The study currently ongoing is a cooperation between the Green Education and Legal Fund and Dr. Steven Breyman at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. The project, which is being conducted by the Fund and students at Rensselaer, aims to examine the feasibility of a plan laid out by Jacobson and Delucchi in 2013. The plan proposes a 100% conversion of New York’s electricity generation to Wind, Water, and Solar (WWS) by 2030, and can be read here.
Throughout the Spring of 2015, the NY Green Education and Legal Fund will be working with students at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute on a special project. This project will be analyzing a 2013 study by Jacobson and Delucchi which proposes a plan under which all of New York state’s electricity would be generated by Wind, Water, and Solar (WWS) technologies. The students at RPI are divided into five groups, each of which will assess the feasibility of one facet of the plan. The groups are as follows:
